As we celebrate this special day (Eid ul-Fitri) with our loved ones, I pray for the oppressed around the world. May Allah ease their pain and suffering. I pray for the oppressor. May Allah touch their hearts to ease the pain of the oppressed, to treat them as fellow human beings who deserve dignity and respect. As humans, we all pursue a life of peace, joy and happiness. A life where we can coexist in dignity and respect for one another. I pray for these things.
If an alien should visit our planet, even if for a day, and observe the way that we are destroying each other, the way that we are destroying the Earth - the only habitat that we know today - it will be wondering "Hey, what's going on?"
